Experiencing Freedom

Israel comes to grips with the full results of their sin as God removes His presence from them.  Moses once again intercedes for them and ask God not to forget the promise that He made to deliver them.  Moses asks God to show Himself so that he can know God.  It is by these kinds of revelation that we know God and experience the freedom He intends for us.

Changed By God

Moses pleads with God to forgive Israel and offers himself on their behalf. This change in Moses is the result of being in God's presence and God desires to make those same changes in our lives. Even when we miss it, God chooses to forgive us, and use us to accomplish His purposes through us.

Standing in Faith

Our relationship with God is more significant then ourselves.  It is how God intends to reveal Himself in the world.  Standing in faith when others doubt allows us to represent and show God to the world.

The Mosaic Covenant, Exodus

Moses is breaking down the law into case studies for every day life.  He is providing examples of how to wisely deal with sin among God's people.  God is calling Israel to live in covenant with Himself and with one another.  After the explanation of the Law, God reminds Israel of His promise to Abraham to bring them into the promise land.  He prepares the way for them and sends a guide to go before and defend Israel from their enemies.

The Mosaic Covenant, Exodus

Israel Chooses to distance themselves from God and ask for a mediator.  Because of this separation, God puts processes in place to continue the work of redeeming His people.  Even when we choose sin over God's best for us, God doesn't give up on us.  He continues to work within the bondage we create as a result of our sin.

Keeping the Sabbath

In this last message on the Ten Commandments, we are considering what it means to keep the Sabbath. God gave man the Sabbath that He may find rest from his work and so that others would see that it is God that is doing the work of sanctifying man. The Sabbath is a day that has been set aside to engage with God, find rest, and look forward to the day when our relationship with God is fully restored to its original design.
